Err hello. Tap tap on the microphone. Yes, I am still here. I was shocked to see that I had not blogged since October 20 and lo, it is already the end of November! Oopsies.Well, it got to the business end of the university semester and I got a bit wrapped up in mountains of paper. We did manage to go away though on a cheese making weekend in Picton - more on that later. I have my last exam of 2009 tomorrow, so promise cross my heart hope to die (bit of a macabre statement hey?) to pop my head over here more often after that. I have a whole slew of Project 52 updates to get up to date with.In the meantime, talk amongst yourself.
And so it has come to this, my life reduced to a quote from Ferris Bueller’s Day off:
“I am not going to sit on my ass as the events that affect me unfold to determine the course of my life. I’m going to take a stand. I’m going to defend it. Right or wrong, I’m going to defend it.

I defrosted pumpkin soup instead of curry. So this is the result! What was supposed to be curry rice and veg became a mix your own sushi roll.
Blanched silverbeet is layered at the bottom of the plate - a trick to make it seem like i have a larger meal of rice than i do. Satisfy the eye then the belly!
Steamed rice mixed with steamed leek, mushrooms, carrots and sesame seeds and a splash of soy. French beans on the side.
Chuck a fried egg and bits of bacon on top. Serve with a slice of avocado, some soy/wasabi and a plate of nori squares.
Now carefully put some rice and avo on seaweed and dip in soy/wasabi! A delightful mistake in cooking!
