Din Tai Fung

Din Tai Fung: Xiao Long Bau, originally uploaded by noodlebowl.

The famed Taiwanese dumpling eatery opened in Sydney last year and I finally paid it a visit this week. It is famed for its xiao long bau - the pork filled soup dumpling. It is indeed delicious, but for gritty tastiness and authentic atmosphere i.e. no service and a chipped pot of chinese tea, I still rate any joint in Ashfield above it. Nevertheless, if you’re up for good service, a reasonable bottle of plonk and clean yummy dumplings - Din Tai Fung is the place for you.
