Bbq Chook

A man and his BBQ should not be seperated for too long. It was a happy reunion for the husband when he finally got his new BBQ. Its shiny, it makes fire AND it also boasts a rotisserie kit!

It was quite an adventure poking the big stick into the poor chook’s bum. We finally managed to secure it so it was somewhat stable and begun the long process of watching it turn. I had stuffed it with garlic, lemon and rosemary. We basted it every now and again with an olive oil, garlic and lemon juice concoction. To assist the cooking, we also put an oven tray of liquid on the hot stones to create steam. It took about and hour and half for it to cook. We served it with a side of roasted white winter veggies of parsnip, swedes and potatoes

Worth the effort? I thought the chicken was definitely moister and tastier than an oven roasted chicken. To make it more worthwhile, I reckon you need to roast 2 decent size chooks at once

2 posts in one sitting! The God’s must be Crazy!
